Chest pains after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I had my gastric sleeve done 8/27 . Now I'm having chest pains. Specially when I drink something. Anyone else experiencing this? And do I avoid it?

It's probably gas. Walk around. Rock in a rocking chair. Sip slow and small.

you may be drinking too much too fast. You have to sip. Use a 1 oz. medicine cup and sip out of it - like 1/3 to 1/2 at a time and time your sips 3 to 5 minutes apart. It gets eaiser by next week.

Along the same line - how long before you had both enough energy and were free from pain in your side enough that you could actually start exercising? I was sleeved the 17th, and still get a huge "toothache" under my large right-side incision. The longer I'm up the worse it aches. How long before the exhaustion goes away?

Have you tried Gas-X strips?

You will get some chest pain as a result of the gas that the surgeon uses to inflate the abdomen so he can perform the surgery. The gas irritates the diaphragm and can give pain and hiccups. The chest pain will go away within a few days as the gas gets absorbed by your body. I had quite severe chest pain for a few days.
