BypassedLife 39 Posted August 29, 2015 I know this may seem like a silly thing to be concerned with, but I can't stop thinking about it. So I know with bypass our old stomach gets cut/stapled at the top and stays connected at the bottom to the small intestine. But since it's only connected on one side does it flop around? Or do the other organs keep it snug in place? I hope my question makes sense! Thanks!
esskay77 785 Posted August 29, 2015 @@Gina1209 I had wondered the same thing. I think it's snuggled in there with all the other organs. I don't think there is enough room to flop around.
Dream4tc 192 Posted August 29, 2015 I asked my surgeon that specific question yesterday haha! He said it just stays. There are really no empty spaces in there. It's crowded especially with the fat cushioning all organs
BypassedLife 39 Posted August 29, 2015 Well I feel better that I'm not the only one with that question. Thank you!
Niki15 198 Posted August 30, 2015 I would asume that it shrinks up pretty small since no food os passing thru it
Sollabe 1 Posted August 30, 2015 I wondered the same thing and also wondered if the empty remnant stomach can send hunger pangs since it's always empty. It's a weird concept to think about.
