vhude 41 Posted September 4, 2015 I also learned that caffeine can block the absorption of Iron in our Vitamins. I too was told no for drinking soda and carbonation.
Spiceyfrog 269 Posted September 4, 2015 I agree with all of the posters, as I was also told that we are to never have carbination again. I stopped drinking pop about three months before my surgery and really do not miss it, I believe it was more of a habit than anything. If you truly "need" caffiene (getting headaches), I would try tea, hot or cold.
Elled2 12 Posted September 4, 2015 Don't drink pop!!!! Carbonation is awful for bands. Plus cutting out carbonated beverages is a great tool for weight loss! I stopped drinking pop and in a month alone lost. 15 lbs.
Amylou 206 Posted September 4, 2015 I started back with my coffee (only one cup tho) a month post-op but I am not going to drink pop again - probably nothing carbonated. it's not good for you to begin with and I don't want to deal with any pain in my new gut.
