marthaswett32 0 Posted August 29, 2015 Don't cheat yourself. It is your time to get well. This is worth it.
Invictus 56 Posted August 29, 2015 Find ways to keep yourself busy! If I got bored, I obsessed about what I was not allowed to eat
KathyRS 29 Posted August 29, 2015 I had a crazy week at work, which made it easy. Stay busy. Also, don't cheat at all. If you don't cheat it gets much easier toward the end of day 3. If you cheat, I suspect it will be hard the whole time. Also, my favorite flavor of the Protein Drinks was chocolate, and I only allowed myself to have it first thing in the morning. I'm someone who really loves my morning coffee time, so with creating my own little "treat" I was still able to get that moment. Drink lots and lots. If you cook for others, try to get someone else to handle that while on the pre-diet. Line up lots of emotional support. Who can you call or talk to when you have a tough moment? For me it's was very hard for the first 3 days. After that it was mostly easy with moments that were very hard, but didn't last long. I had lots of support, and I used it! mshenry11 13 Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) Thank you.... What was your daily routine? Im drinking my Protein Drink now so broth for lunch? Then Protein drink for dinner? Edited August 29, 2015 by mshenry11
PlBren 21 Posted August 29, 2015 I'm on day 13. I don't have a routine. I prefer the shakes to the broth. I've had broth a few times but not daily. I wrote down the nut info for all the different products I have and then mix and match to get the right amount of Protein and carbs every day. Don't forget the carbs! I'm allowed 30-50 grams (30 is the minimum). When I started the pre-op diet, I wasn't getting enough and was so fatigued. Now I am doing better with them. Still fatigued but not as much. After 5 days, my stomach seemed to get used to not eating and it was much better. I still have hunger every day, but not really bad. Tell yourself that this diet is an indicator for how well you will do post-surgery. The better you do sticking to it - the better your results will be. I've been there and now I can clearly see the end of the road in front of me.
