It depends on your plan. I am 6 weeks and I can eat enough things that I can look almost normal eating, just small appetite.

I can eat eggs at Breakfast. I could eat oatmeal or something if I wanted, but I don't

lunch I can have salads at 6 weeks, so I could have a salad with a Protein and just eat the Protein first.

dinner, fish or seafood.

As long as you have a smooth recovery you will do fine on vacation. Just take some individual protein packets, and shaker. Make sure you drink Water all day.

I was gonna say, if it is an all inclusive resort that provieds delicious foods and drinks whenever you want, I would postpone surgery. OR, if you were going someplace famous for their foods, delay surgery. Since the place comes with a kitchen and you have to prepare your own meals, keep your surgery date. Be very careful of the sun. You will be more sensitive to the sun and will have to hydrate yourself twice as the dr will recommend. NO ALCOHOL!!!!!! Hope you have a fantastic time!!!!

You will be fine! I am on vacation now with my family. I am almost exactly 2 months out. We have a kitchen but go out frequently. I made pancakes for my family today and wasn't even slightly tempted. I made egg whites with cheese for myself. Last night we were out and I had a cucumber salad and a burger patty no bun. On an island you should have tons of seafood options which are great post op. Enjoy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
