A lot of people say 4oz is how much you should eat in one sitting but I feel like it's so much! I'm really scared to eat that much in one sitting bc I don't even know when I get full tbh....

who are these "a lot of people" and why do you care what they say unless they are YOUR dietician and/or surgeon? If you don't feel up to eating four ounces, don't do it! I couldn't eat four ounces at one sitting until I was well over a year post-op.

2oz is about right, next week you might be up to 3oz, etc.

I am 6 weeks and today was my first day of eating 6 oz of soft baked fish at one sitting.

You are still healing, don't push it. If you are full at 2oz, stop at 2oz. Just make sure you meet your Protein requirements

@@confusedgirl18 it can be tough to know what to do...especially so early on. My stomach hasn't healed enough for me to have a sensation of fullness yet, so i know what you mean about not wanting to overeat. The meal plans vary so widely, so you might want to call your NUT just to see what they recommend. For example, I'm still on full liquids and my surgeon wants me to have 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Soup. I can do the half cup with no probs (that is 4 oz), but that’s probably because it's liquid. Just to show how different the plans are from doc to doc...I'm never to eat oatmeal. Isn't that weird? Good luck! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
