amandalynnb86 1 Posted August 27, 2015 Have had my band since 7/14/14 and lately I'm feeling a lot of regrets. Probably more than half of the time I feel like I can't eat. The "stuck" feeling, and/or pain when I do get something down. Been like this off and (mostly) on since like January of 2015. I've had a few deflates and it seems like I'm back in the sand state after a few days. It wouldn't be so frustrating if the suffering had a little weight loss pay off, but I've only lost like 15 pounds in 8 months. I'm following all the rules when I actually can eat. I feel like I'm fat and starving. Im so SICK of Protein Shakes and puréed soups!! Anyone else felt like this?
TheProfessor 378 Posted August 28, 2015 Oh dear! I am sorry to hear of your frustration. Sounds like you are in 'Bandster Hell'. Sounds like you have a lot of things going on that would be of great interest to your surgeon/support team. Your maladaptive eating (Soups, Protein shakes) must make things tough on you day in and day out (no blame, just observation). Have you spoken to your surgeon about your frustration and situation? amandalynnb86 1 Posted August 28, 2015 @@TheProfessor I did speak to my surgeon's practitioner once early spring, when I had my first deflate, then again in June when I had another paired with a minor slippage. I'm usually feeling rushed in and out when I go. Plus, I live over 100 miles from their office so it's hard to get over there. It's been worse the past couple weeks and I've already made up my mind to go tomorrow.
TheProfessor 378 Posted August 28, 2015 Good for you for getting pro-active and taking this in hand. My surgeon is 150 kms away... a pain in terms of face to face follow ups, but I've found tremendously supportive via phone, webinars, etc. Keep us posted - rooting for you! Elled2 12 Posted September 5, 2015 My clinic closed down 4 months after my surgery. A lot of my learning process was done alone and I started doing my own fills and defills. The band is worth it, but developing a positive relationship with it is a journey that took me over 2 years to achieve. I've been where you are and empathize with you. If you ever want to chat I'd be happy to offer some aide
Elled2 12 Posted September 12, 2015 My surgeon was contracted to the clinic and as a result has no contact with the clinic clients
