Got a call today to schedule my EGD. Was told that a few days after that test I would get a call with the results and to schedule my surgery. I was also told my surgeon is scheduling about the weeks out from the call date. So looking early October. EGD is September 10th due to my work schedule.

My EGD is the 10th so I suspect I will get a call to schedule it around the 16th or so. I was told my surgeon schedules about 3 weeks out so probably early October as I have a road trip planned the last weekend in September. I am using Dr. Carlton with the Nicholson Clinic.

I assumed I wouldn't get a approval because my last month into my diet my insurance agency was bought out by Molina health. I was Really unaware of how this would affect me but my Bariatric office wasn't very positive about it and told me I would have to start a year diet because that's what Molina required. I was Beyond upset and started to give up but then thought what would it hurt to continue into the end and Boom, a week before the change I got a Approval, just hope all is well after the change on the 1 of September.

I'm using Dr Nicholson! I am hoping to get a surgery date for October but it will be close. Had my nutrition consult last night and I have my sleep study this Saturday.

I had a psych eval Monday but he wouldn't approve me because he wanted me on a diet plan for 4 weeks before he would approve. However I'm thinking about using one online on Friday to hopefully speed up the process. Really think that the nutritionist is the one that should decide that and fatter talking with her last night I've got some strategies to accomplish it.

Hoping insurance doesn't take too long to approve so that I can get a date.

They said Dr. Carlton is about 3 weeks out. Told me with my EGD fate of 9/10 I would probably be looking at the end of September or Early October for my surgery.

Ladisani let me know how it goes. I am using Dr. Nicholson and my EGD is September 11th (so close to yours). They told me he would be 6 weeks out for surgery, so sounds like yours will be quicker with Carlton!! I am so curious exactly how this last phase will go! Hoping it is smooth now as I have had some bumps since early June. It seems to have gone fast and slow! haha

Got my surgery date today of 10/27. I was given two options that were earlier but this date worked best for a variety of reasons. Can't wait!!! EGD in the morning.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
