Tssiemer, I am so glad to see your feeling better. I've been wondering about you. Hopefully you don't feel bad anymore.

Bloomer, how are you feeling? Is it hitting you yet?

Brittney, I promise it won't take forever as it seems. It's almost May. Can't even believe it. Summer is coming and that always goes by fast lol.

I'm ready. Bag packed, kids at granny's and husband briefed on departure time in the morning. It will be weird to be the one in the hospital bed. I'm always the family member at bedside and I work in a hospital. I will touch base with you all tomorrow. Think happy thoughts for me!

Brittney, it's crazy how fast summer will go but to you, it might feel like forever now. I had to do this for 9 months. 11 months all together. It's a good thing to wait since you can see what everyone goes through and experience. Gather information up too. I'm here if you have any questions or anything. I am 11 weeks out now and it's has its up n downs. It gets better as time goes.

Tssiemer, I am so happy your better. I really am! Are you doing the liquid diet we were on for pre op? Or just watching what you eat?

Bloomer, good luck with everything and it might be rough the 1st week. Definitely the first couple days, but I promise, it gets better. I am here for you!

Bcostasbiggs, how are you doing?

I'm following the diet to a tee. Except I cheated with almonds once. I started the pre diet early too in case of something happening. I'm on day 7. :)

I am so much better, physically! I've had two c-sections, and breezed through those compared to this. But, after a week, I feel pretty good. Still working on getting my Protein down, but I talked to a nurse at Dr Thompsons yesterday, and she said I'm doing OK. I've lost 25 pounds, 12 of those were on pre-op diet. :)

Hey guys! Surgery went well but it was my first time with anesthesia and let's just say I'm a lightweight and apparently have sleep apnea.. I ended up having to go to the medical step down unit ( between icu and floor status ) because I needed On a non rebreather machine because I was having respiratory issues . I'm doing much better now but they had to keep yelling at me to wake up so I would breath. Morphine was too much for me too causing me to be too sedated. I've been feeling much better but may have to stay another night.

Bcostasbiggs, that's good your much better. It will all keep getting better too. Definitely with the weight coming off.

Bloomer, that's so scary to think that you have apnea and they had to wake you up different times. But at least you know your in good hands and they took great care of you obviously. I'm just happy your okay and hopefully you will be feeling good too. I had to stay an extra day so don't feel bad. It's better to be in a safe place.

I wasn't allowed like 2 weeks to lift anything over 20 pounds but that's it. You should be okay to do whatever you want to do. But just take it easy as you can so you can see what you can do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
