Sorry to hear this. Obviously I haven't had surgery but don't get behind on your fluids because you won't be able to catch up. Change the temperature to the opposite of what you're drinking now. Eat more popsicles, anything to get the liquid down.

Kroger brand broth is definitely gross! I don't really like anyone's broth except from chicken noodle Soup so I would just drink that around all of that. I don't like beef or vegetable broth either.

Bloomer, the hunger is supposed to better after the 3rd or 4th day. That's why it was so hard for me to keep up on the diet, I was hungry too. I was hungry a couple days after surgery and we aren't even supposed to be. You only have 4 more days of the diet! I'm super excited for you.

Bcostasbiggs, I'm sorry you aren't interested in drinking. I barely did in the hospital and the day I got home. Room temp is the best way to go. I promise, it gets better. The 1st week is rough and you might regret this. I did. The head hunger is real too. But I am 10 weeks out, it's better. Once you start losing weight, you will be excited. It's gonna be okay. Bloomer gave you great tips! Definitely try keeping hydrated though. It's hard, but popsicles are the way to go. They will help.

Just a few more days! Down to 221.8, feels like I hit a stall on pre-op...lol

I have no interest in food at this time. Started using soap on my belly provided by MD in preparation for surgery on Friday. Feeling good!

I just got Zoup (like the restaurant) broth at Kroger and. It. Is. Amazing. Only 4 calories for half a cup but it has a bit of sodium the tags indicates they had lower sodium but they were out at the time.

My mother and I actually went to Zoup for lunch. I asked if I could have the beef barley with a bit more broth as I was on a special diet and the guy was all defensive and said something along the lines of "that takes away from other customers" so I just said no problem, not to worry about it. I wasn't like offended or anything. Well they made my

Moms salad and they gave her a bag with Soup broth in it anyway. It was soooo good. OMG. It was better than sex. I went up to the counter to pay for the soup and they told me not to worry and I told them how much it meant to me.

But I'm also making my own broth right now with chicken bones, carrots, celery, leeks, garlic and rosemary. Smells like heaven.

@@Tssiemer1 are you just going to strain off the veggies? I thought of doing this but not sure I could discard the veggies because they would smell so good. I've been looking up post op recipes today.

Molly how long are we on clears after surgery? It looked like just while in the hospital, but I'm not sure.

Yeah I strained it. My husband dumped it all and cleaned it for me. It was sooooo good.

Tssiemer, that broth sounds so good. It's always best making it ourselves. Hopefully the diet will get easier for you. At least your trying to change now. It's so hard

Bloomer, the clears that your doing now is just got surgery. Then after surgery, we start the strained Soups and everything else we had while on the pre op. That goes for the 1st month.

I don't feel well at all. I've slept all day. My blood pressure was really low 89/56. I drank like 30 more ounces of Water tonight and feel a little better.

Drink some fluids with electrolytes. You may also want to have something with a little sodium in it (broth). It sounds like you might be dehydrated.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
