Bloomer723 75 Posted April 19, 2016 Starting day 5, so far so good. Last night I struggled a little but kept it together. Doing great! SW=229.8 CW=223.
Bloomer723 75 Posted April 19, 2016 Ugh hunger got the best o me and I ate a Quest bar and half a sweet italian sausage. The good news is I am still under my 800 calorie a day and carb limit. Back on track starts now! 10 days to go!
bcostasbiggs 1 Posted April 19, 2016 I wish u didn't have to cook for my family. It would make things so much easier! If my home scale can be trusted, I am down 9 pounds on the pre op diet, the days left. Wow. That's crazy. I meant I wish *I* didn't have to cook. But hey, if anyone wants to come cook for my family, have at it!!! Lololol
MollyF22 62 Posted April 20, 2016 Bloomer, that's what I did if I needed something to eat. Just watched what I ate. Your losing weight so your liver will be fine. I give props to anyone who stays 100 percent on the diet n doesn't cheat one bit. Cooking for the family n having kids is rough. I didn't cook. I let them cook their own. I wanted my husband just to eat chipotle or skyline since I don't like those that much but when your starving, anything works lol. It made it worse for me while at work too since everyone could eat what they want. My manager is always eating. It also sucked with the smell of outback. Omg.....your gonna do just fine. We aren't perfect.
Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm just so scared to go off the diet. I'm even starting it today to lose some extra weight.
Bloomer723 75 Posted April 20, 2016 Back on track today. Days 1-4 no problem day 5 PROBLEM! I keep seeing how much easier it's supposed to be after the first couple of day, but it's all LIES.....lol. The STRUGGLE is real!
Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 20, 2016 Well. That lasted like a minute. I just ate a stuffed pepper that I had frozen a few weeks ago I was cleaning out the cabinets and freezer and fridge and found it. :-(
MollyF22 62 Posted April 21, 2016 Tssiemer, that's great you started a diet and are gonna try to lose some weight before. It will make things easier for you. A stuff pepper sounds so freaking good. It probably wasn't all bad for you. Bloomer, the diet is definitely hard no matter what. I found it easiest to just wait the week of surgery or the last 3 days to just be strict. Even though that's totally breaking the diet but I feel like they just don't understand how hard this really is. They also say that we won't be hungry and that's a lie. I just don't get the growling of the stomach. It's weird. I mean I wasn't hungry for the first couple days but I was so ready for food by my 1st week. Eating is really weird and swallowing. Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I mean, how long can it actually take to shrink your liver?? Some doctors don't even require a liquid diet before. Just Clear Liquids day before. So I don't know. But I'm going to follow it best I can. Edited April 21, 2016 by Tssiemer1
Bloomer723 75 Posted April 21, 2016 I did good yesterday was 223.8 today so up .2. I'm worried about not having a loss on my surgery day. Right now I'm down 6 pounds from my last weigh-in but only 2 pounds from my initial weigh-in in August 2015. I want to definitely be lower than my initial weigh-in. Ivan told a story about a person who hadn't lost any weight prior to surgery so they sent her home. I don't want to be THAT person.
Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 23, 2016 Kroger brand chicken broth tastes like crap.
Bloomer723 75 Posted April 23, 2016 @@tssiemer I used Campbell's Keurig pods and it tastes pretty good. They have a couple different flavor so like southwest and home style. Still hungry, isn't the hunger supposed to pass? Still doing good though and was down to 222.2 this morning. I would like to be below 220 for surgery. I work Sunday and then Tuesday, and the off work until 5-15. My plan is to get my house clean and laundry done so I can relax a few days. I also want to meal plan/prep for the family for the first week. I'll have help if needed but I'm a planner by nature.
Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 23, 2016 Cool I'll look into them. This weekend I've been cleaning, doing laundry and putting up winter clothes I probably will never wear again. I'm afraid to give them away until I've actually had surgery. I did that with my summer clothes when I thought I was having it done last November.
