Well I did it. Last appointment was today! I lost another 2 pounds. Down 9 pounds since March. Ivan said it's gonna go by fast now as soon as they get the insurance approval. Hopefully something next week maybe. I will have 2 classes to take then talk to anesthesia. Can't even believe it.

Yeah Molly I'm so excited for you! It sounds like I'll be about 1-2 months behind you.. Maybe after we've both healed and it warms up we could meet up for a cup of broth...lol

Keep me posted on how long insurance takes. I saw Dr. Thompson is running a self-pay rate of $11999 if all else fails.

Thank you. And we should definitely meet up for lunch sometime. I would love to meet you guys. I actually have a friend who secretly got the sleeve done back in June. We went out to ihop without me knowing she had the surgery done. But after I brought it up about me getting it, she told me. She didn't eat much. She's lost a good amount of weight too. I also have another friend from school who just had a baby that had the sleeve done 2 years ago. She lost alot too. I'm pretty excited. I'm excited to be back to myself and have fun in life. I will be here for you guys too for any questions and help along the way. UC is so great though. Dr. Ivan is my favorite. He makes my day whenever I see him.

Im having mine done in Ashland. I will be seeing Dr. Wheeler. Yesterday was my FIRST appointment. I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. I'm starting my 6 month process for my insurance, which will put my surgery somewhere around July. Looking forward to getting started on this journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
