How's everyone doing? Saw your update chicken, congrats on 9 lbs. perk how are you doing?

Tssiemer & Molly? Updates?

I'm fighting off a sinus infection that everyone in the house has. Hoping that I get over this and have a heathy few months so as not to interfere with surgery. Joined a 6 week holiday boot camp that starts tomorrow. Dreading class but I know I'll be glad I went when it's over.

Hope your all doing well.

Hi! I don't have any updates really. I go Dec 2nd to see Ivan. That's my 8th out of 9th appointments so I'm patiently waiting. I just started a new job at Justice. I'm nervous about telling my manager about my surgery but we slow down after the holidays so I hope it's not a big deal. I'm thinking 3 weeks to take off. I just don't know how everything will go. I can't even believe December is coming so soon. I'm getting so nervous just thinking about surgery. I'm definitely going to need a relaxer before. The boot camp should help you lose some weight maybe? Are you supposed to lose any weight during the class? I couldn't ever do something like that. I give you major props!

Apparently I have sleep apnea. I don't see that doctor until the 30th to set up lab tests and things. Looks like I won't get surgery before the end of the year. Which blows because we already met our deductible and wouldn't have to pay anything. So now I gotta scramble up the deductible before I can have surgery next year. So I'm really upset.

I've gone off the diet a bit and gained some weight back. My doctor said the weight could be Fluid retention from my kidneys not functioning all the way. But I know I've gone off the diet too.

Today was my tentative surgery date and I just feel..... jealous of the person that got my slot. You know?

I don't know why I'm letting this bother me so much. :-/

Good luck at your appointment monday. And I can understand why your jealous of everyone getting the surgery the day you were supposed too. Your ready for it and have been for a bit now. It's not fair. It will happen when it's supposed too though. Some things happen for a reason. As everyone always says it. Maybe we will be around the same date then when I get approved sometime in January I hope. I hope you have good news soon. It will be okay.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving too. I worked thursday night late and friday too for black friday. It was fine. My new job knows about my surgery and is fine with it since we slow down.

Had my 8th visit with Ivan today. Went good as always. Lost 4 pounds some how. They weren't packed either surprisingly. How is everyone doing? I hope all is well.

I have appointmen 4/6 next week. Things are going good. I'm getting less obsessed about surgery so time seems to be moving a little faster. Thanksgiving was good. When is your next appointment?

Ugh...another pair of pants bite the dust due to chub rub. Trying not to buy a replacement pair but desperately need for winter. The struggle is real!

You can always go to a good will or something like that and not pay much. They don't have bad clothes. Walmart has pretty cheap jeans too. I don't blame you for being obsessed. It seems like forever away but yet time is going by. At least the holidays will be here so that makes it go by a bit faster. This cold weather sucks. We will.be freezing next year lol. My last appointment is Jan 6th. Can't even believe it. One more month. It freaks me out. That day, I will be anxious. I will be anxious all that month too until I get the call to schedule. It's just so nerve racking to think about.

Hi all! I'm 2 months in and super excited! Where is everyone from? I'm in Pa. My surgery is planned for May sometime. No date is set yet. I still have bunches of tests to get done. Scared and excited at the same time!

Hi Claddagh66! We all are from Ohio. I'm from Cincinnati. We go to UC in West Chester. We all just chat with each other about what's going on since we all go to the same place. I'm sure May will be here before you know it. I've been doing the visits for 8 months now. Only 1 more to go! Probably having surgery in February. I can't even believe it. I know May seems like awhile away but honestly, the more you read people's experiences and gather information for your self, it makes you happy to wait a bit to see how's it gonna go down. I'm starting the freaking out part just a bit. Never had surgery before. Only c section.

Hi MollyF22! So nice to hear from you. Yes it's great to see everyone's story and learn so much as you go through this. I love reading as many comments as I can. Love this site!

You've been doing this a long time now! Why 8 months? Has it just taken this long for everything that was needed? Was it your choice? Insurance? I have 6 months wait time and that's fine by me! I see now how many things are being requested and it will take that long to get them all in! Now I'm thinking May/June!

Your going to l do fantastic in February!!! I'm sure your nerves are catching up to you at this point! Feels more real now! Your going to feel so good by summertime you'll be dancing all around!

I wish you loads of good luck and hope it all goes smoothly for you!!! So excited for you!!!

My insurance requires me to go for 9 months. They are paying for the whole thing so that's fine by me lol. I've met with everyone I needed too. Just this last visit and it will be done until surgery time. It's good that you don't mind waiting the 6 months. Alot of people are upset by it. It helps with getting prepared though. I am definitely ready though. Just for the the nerves to be over with lol. We can definitely keep in touch and see what I go through and what everyone else does too. I'm hoping all of us have a good recovery. Thanks for all the good luck. You too when it's your time :)

Still waiting for my lab sleep study. My insurance wants ANOTHER home study even though I've a ready done two. I'm about to just self pay the sleep study and get it over with.

I fell in the shower yesterday and really jacked up my back some more. I pulled the curtain rod down with me and tore up the wall. It was pretty dramatic.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
