I will let you know. I love seeing him. I already did the fitness and dietician too. They are both easy and the ladies are both nice.

I met Dr. Thompson about 2 months ago maybe, he's really nice and will help with any questions you have.

Well my last 9 month visit isn't until January now. When it was supposed to be at the end of November. They couldn't find an open appointment in either of November or December so now it adds an extra month. Dr. Ivan said it's gonna take 1 week to 45 days after they get all my 9 month paperwork done and then they schedule my surgery. Then he has us go 3 more weeks for surgery prep stuff. Like 2 different classes then talk to anesthesia doctors. I'm kind of upset about considering it won't be until February until I have my surgery if everything is gonna take that long.

Dr Tompkins just did my surgery on Monday. He was great and everything went well. Today's Wednesday and I'm a little sore still but just trying to walk it off.

Yikes! That sucks Molly. I've tried to schedule appointments starting in Jan and my patient advocate said she wasn't able to schedule into next year yet. Does this mean you will have been at this almost a year by the time you have surgery? I would be so mad. Did you have any additional testing like sleep apnea, EGD or cardiac stuff?

tssiemer how was your appt?

Molly was there no appt that fit your schedule or they really didn't have one until Jan? My schedule is pretty flexible and I have been put on a wait list and they actually called when someone cancelled.

Congrats Sarah! How long did you jump through hoops?

Dr. Thompson was ok. He's not really a jokester, kind of serious sooo we didn't really hit it off lol. I got a smirk out of him when I said the fundus (stretchy part of your stomach) is no fun. But I guess he's a surgeon and needs to be serious lol.

I did get to see Ivan today due to my test results so that was fun.

Dee said she'd send in my insurance info after I get my sleep study, so in a few weeks.

Then we wait. (And see what they say about my labs).

I have an open schedule too so they didn't have any open spots at all. I started this journey March 30th. I only have a cardio clearance and pulmonary clearance too next month that's it for my insurance. I go all December without an appointment. Kind of sucks. I am upset about it but I can't really do anything. Maybe something will change but probably not. My time will come when it's supposed to be. It will be okay.

@@Tssiemer1 I think we were in the office together. Were you wearing all black? Glasses? My last name was Fraley. I almost talked to you but wasn't sure if you wanted to talk or not. We also have the same purse but mine is blue instead of pink.

Also, I carry that purse because it's not a purse purse you know? I'm not too girly and need something like that to hold important stuff. When I was working, I saw a customer have one so I looked it up lol.

My appointment was fine. I sent an email to Ivan asking him about my starting weight versus my weight for surgery. I am really close to having a BMI under 40 and I have no comorbidities, so I'm afraid if I lose too much weight I will be excluded for surgery. My initial weigh in was 225.8 and I'm 5'2". If I go below 220 my BMI is under 40. I have a 10 year history of holding steady ar 223-230. Do you guys know if I can lose below 220 and still qualify? I've heard they use your starting weight but want verification from someone ar UC.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
