Sad and disappointed

Recommended Posts

I just got a call that I have to start the whole process over July 2016. My BMI in 2014 was 34 and was 36 in July 2015. I was all done with my pre appointments except for the nutritional classes ... and was looking at Surgury the beginning of the year ... now I will have to wait till Jan 2017 ... anyone else had this happen ... I wanna cry

I know exactly how you feel being all ready to go and getting a phone call saying that everything is postponed. I know it's not exactly what you're going through, but frustrating nonetheless. I was all ready to go and bam! I hope that whatever the reasoning for the postponement is figured out soon and you can move on from this. Good luck with everything!!!

Ps-keep us posted!

That happened to me 6 years ago. The insurance company was so strict that I lost all hope until a friend convinced me to try again. Now I'm scheduled for 9/14/15. Hang in there. It will work out.

I hope I don't have to wait.....did they submit your papers to your insurance?...,,,My BMI right now is 36 .......2014 it was 35 but in 2013 my BMI was 34. I'm on HBP meds and I have sleep apnea (CPAP machine)......My Patient Advocate said we can also submit my weight from 2012 which was 36.....What insurance do you have?....Are you on HBP meds?

I am on 3 BP meds ... I have Aetna ... my issue is I had no weights recorded for 2013 ... BMI was 34 in 2014 and 36 in 2015 ... however in 2014 I worked my tail off to lose a few pounds and then gained it back ... now I have to weight till end of July 2016 to start the process over

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
