What a terrible food day!

Recommended Posts

I know it is a lot of PMS and emotional eating but right from the gate this morning I started eating crappy food filled with sugar. Even though it didn't make me feel good I could not stop all day! I still had my meals and my two Protein Shakes but could not stop with the sweets! This happened last month too! I need to stop doing this one day a month!!! Determined however to eat only healthy and on plan tomorrow! I have my 3 month check up on Friday and had wanted to be at my lowest but after today I am sure I will be up a pound or two. I tracked on my fitness pal and it was a total of 1250 roughly. Normally I am around 700 on my normal days. Very frustrated with myself!

Get some Quest Protein Bars or even the quest indulge and have those when you want something sweet on those days. Just learn to cheat cleaner, this is a lifetime change. You can't abstain from everything forever. You have to learn to just make better choices.

@@mtraverse - at 52 I still have those days too. Get outside, walk the dog, play with the kids - get AWAY from the food.

Drink Water....

Check in with the feelings. You mentioned emotional eating. Examine that. Each time. It's not easy, but it's a habit I've started and it's made a huge difference in my anxiety eating this week.

I no longer deal with PMS, but try it, it might help you too.

Ugh! I totally feel your pain as well!

I had a terrible food day yesterday. Not so much the sweets but way too many carbs for me. It started out great but yesterday afternoon I just felt like munching and nothing I tried satisfied it for me. The worst part was, I wasn't even hungry, just simply giving in to head hunger.

The most frustrating thing was I had a rough night, unable to fall asleep and stay asleep. I found myself starving at 1am not knowing if I could wait to get up to have a shake in the am. That never happens to me so I am sure I was paying for all the carbs I ate.

I was so disappointed in myself for giving in like this. I have been struggling with terrible back pain lately and not able to get moving and a little bummed about it. I think it had a lot to do with that.

I am usually a very positive person and the bummed feeling really got to me. I feel like I gave up on myself for a day.

I know this, today is a brand new day. I get to start again and today I will not let it get the best of me. I have been up since 6am and I am focused on getting my Water this morning to ward off hunger. It is working!

I can forgive myself for a bad day and simply move forward!

@@mtraverse When I get that way I drink a Atkins dark chocolate Royal ready made shake. They have a strong sweet chocolate taste, maybe you should try that. If I still feel that way at night I take some zzzzquil and sleep it off!

How timely this topic is!! I've been dealing with the MUNCHIES off and on for about a week now. What a struggle at times! Still logging every bite and still exercising, trying to stay the proper course. Trying (and usually succeeding) to make the best choices for when I do give in to the munchies.

Djmohr- thanks for your empathy! What are we to do on days like that but struggle with ourselves and the temptations that our bodies love! Take it one day at a time and let's try not to beat ourselves up too much. I have been a model sleeves today, so weakness lead to strength! We just keep going and hope the next time we are tempted we have and learn more control! Thank you! Glad I am not the only one who did this yesterday!

Elode- I have yet to get those Atkin shakes, been meaning to but they are so pricy and I'm cheap! Keep waiting for a sale! I will continue to wait for them!

Mrssugarbabe- it's a challenge everyday. Great job on the accountability. We have to be honest with ourselves to make any ground! Great job with the continued perseverance! Thank you. It's terrible to feel this way. ????

Make sure you are taking your vitamins! Deficiencies cause cravings for really unhealthy stuff, too. And 8 months out - sometimes that one day of 1000+ calories is followed by a 3 or 4 pound loss for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
