bncbabe2015 11 Posted August 26, 2015 Anyone not get approved and changed your insurance plan? Just wondering if the 6 month diet starts all over for a new insurance.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted August 27, 2015 I haven't gone through that, but as long as you don't miss a month, you won't have to start over. The requirement, if you have to do six months, is usually "six consecutive months within the last year" or "... within the last two years".
cindyw41 761 Posted August 27, 2015 I was wondering about this too. Although the 6 month pre-op diet should be accepted by any insurance as long as you have it documented. My concern would be if there was a waiting period for elective surgery.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted August 27, 2015 More insurances are getting away from the six-month nutrition visits. Mine, Blue Shield of California, dropped the requirement a week or so after I finished all of my requirements.
bncbabe2015 11 Posted August 27, 2015 Thanks for your input! This is just a very stressful time for me. Worrying about not getting approved and this and that. I may not even have to change plans. I just over analyze everything. It's hard when you want something so bad and you're scared its gonna fall through. I have blue cross blue shield of KY and as of right now, it's still a requirement for me.
