leatha_g 4 Posted November 5, 2004 Just wanted to share an awesome post from ObesityHelp.com concerning Pre-op research and understanding of what this procedure entails. I highly suggest potential and new bandsters to read this very carefully. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgtype-forums/LapBand/postdetail/96691.html?vc=
Penni60 45 Posted November 5, 2004 Thanks Leatha for this info. I have stuck this thread. I had forgotten that I too belong to Obesityhelp.com LOL!!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted November 5, 2004 I did a ton of researching before I decided to have the surgery. I still learn things everyday from this board. I can't imagine just jumping in and having the surgery done without knowing everything you can about it. Thanks for posting this Leatha!

Jammin & Losin 1 Posted January 9, 2005 Hi my post name is Jammin & Loosen I have not been banded yet and I am doing lots of research and I found this thread that Leatha did a few months back. I think it is very informative if you are not sure what you should know before surgery. I wanted to bump it back up for all you new bandsters. Please check out the web site she posted at the begining of this thread. THANKS LEATHA. Also you new bandsters check out old posts they are very helpful! amoro68 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Can some one tell me what PBing stands for. I see it alot on the chats but have no idea what it stands for. Aurora
New Hope 37 Posted January 10, 2005 PB means "productive burp". It's more like baby spitup, undigested food that gets stuck in your esophagus. It's usually caused from eating too fast and/or taking too large of bites. But it can be caused from too tight a fill. Excess pbing is not good for your band and can lead to band slippage. It can be very painful and serves as a wake-up call to slow down and chew, chew, chew.
amoro68 0 Posted January 10, 2005 thanks for the info. I need to remember this because I am nortorious for eating too fast and taking large bites.

Persimmon 0 Posted June 8, 2005 Always funny to see myself appearing where I wasn't before But glad Leatha saved the link to this, cuz this stuff's hard to find on OH which doesn't have the good sticky feature. Nancy
the best me 6 Posted June 8, 2005 Always funny to see myself appearing where I wasn't before But glad Leatha saved the link to this, cuz this stuff's hard to find on OH which doesn't have the good sticky feature. Nancy Okay Persimmon, now I know where you came from! Me: "Who's this girl with great replies all over the board, out of nowhere, where'd she come from and how did she get here? I'm gonna check her out!" Which led me to here. How 'bout an introduction? I'd love to know all the scoop about when you were banded, your doc, your weight loss so far and your goals. It appears you only have 12 posts (all great, btw) but no introduction! Maybe you are familiar to the other folks who know you from OH, but you are like a ghost from nowhere to me! It's nice to have your experience here. Thanks for your replies!
