sbagby1960 65 Posted August 25, 2015 Just had my endoscopy on August 19th. My drs. office called today to say I had h. Pylori. I'm on antibiotics for two weeks. I'm in the middle of my pre-surgery diet. My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 3rd. Is this gonna cancel my surgery? They didn't say that when they called me today. I'm about to cry worrying about it. I'm ready. I don't want to wait.
sbg224 318 Posted August 25, 2015 Got to call your surgeon, it's up to him/her. I hope it all works out, good luck
mykdzmom 387 Posted August 26, 2015 My surgeon mentioned it and tested me for it when I started this process over 6 months ago. I was negative at that time. He said he would test again before the surgery and if I was positive it would be treated with antibiotics as you mention. He acted as if it would be no big deal either way, but wanted to be prepared. I am sure everything will be fine. Good luck!
muzical1 85 Posted August 26, 2015 They're just treating it before surgery. I didn't have it but my doc told me it would not prevent surgery. I has the nose swab come back positive for bacteria. I had to use a salve for 10 days before surgery. You'll be fine.
