m_wren 0 Posted August 25, 2015 I've been reading many of the post here, and I see that many of you are extremely knowledgeable and well educated regarding this permanent procedure we have all elected. Before having surgery I felt like I knew everything there was to know, I constantly tried to educate myself, and still do daily, but now not even 3 weeks out I feel completely LOST. The first week post surgery everything went great, I was able to drink Water and eat with no problems, now almost 3 weeks out it seems to be getting harder to keep anything down. Today everything I ate I immediately threw up ( including water) is this normal? Every time I eat I feel as if I'm having a heart attack. I get this horrible pain in my chest and I'm unable to breath. Has anyone else experienced this awful feeling? Am I eating too fast? Too much? I'm on the puréed stage right now maybe I need to go back just to liquids a bit longer ???? I was only able to drink 16 oz of Water today which means I will be @ the doctors tomorrow getting hooked up to an IV so I don't get dehydrated ( not ideal ) but I just can't keep anything down. I'm feeling discouraged.
Babbs 14,681 Posted August 25, 2015 Please call your surgeon first thing tomorrow morning. In the mean time, keep trying to get your fluids in. I don't like the idea that you were doing fine before, and now all of the sudden you're having these issues. I always worry about a stricture when I hear that! Keep us posted!
