dmc7399 2 Posted August 25, 2015 I had my consultation today. And my next $225 consultation is next Monday. I called BCBS today and they said they cover 50%. Do I have to pay the rest before the surgery or can I make payments? Does anyone have experience with this?
Astrosgirl 96 Posted August 25, 2015 I would think it would depend on the hospital. My hospital requires all elective procedures be paid in full before time of service. But I have seen others that will allow a percentage to be paid and then make payment arrangements... You can call the financial coordinator for the hospital and they should be able to tell you. Best of luck!!
dmc7399 2 Posted August 25, 2015 Thank you I am doing that tomorrow!
BarrySue 602 Posted August 25, 2015 Doctors can often accept payments. However, the hospital itself will pretty much always require payment in full before ANY services are rendered. Sorry!
cindyw41 761 Posted August 25, 2015 In my experience hospitals bill you after its submitted to the insurance and the insurance pays their portion. I've never had to prepay for services/surgery before. Check with the hospital but I'd be shocked if they make you pay in full prior to the procedure.
