4 days post op and my incisions/surrounding areas are really itchy. A friend told me to try tea tree oil but I can't remember if they said not to apply anything to the site...

The itching is a sign of them healing. My doctor told me to keep mine clean and dry. Also, not to put any cream or ointments on them.

Soap and Water only. With a good rinse.

Mine are itching too and today I have a rash on various spots on my body. Not freaking out. Got diaper rash cream to see if the rash improves and it already looks better than a few hours ago. Now if I could just stop the incision itching...

I am just a little over 3 weeks out and my incisions were itchy too. My problem was I think I'm allergic to the adhesive they used to close the incisions. I experienced this with the last surgery I had. My doc suggested a Benadryl itch cream but put it around the incision, not on it. Once the adhesive came off it made a significant difference in the itching.

Good luck!

Tea tree oil will burn. May not want to put that on them. They are still open. Mine itch too.. yes they are healing. I just rub them through my shirt and scratch around them when it gets bad.

Try rubbing them through ur shirt! No oils or ointments. Itching is a sign of healing. :) Best of luck and congratulations! ????

Hi same thing happened to me. Doctor looked at mine said it was an allergic reaction to the glue on the tape. My sleeve was 8/17/15 he told me to use hydrocortisone Benadryl cream. Soak in warm bath.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
