Hi I'm 1 month post op sleeve... And this past week have had shrimp/sashimi. Both have worked really well for me. You will need to take it slowly try things a little at a time. Rich sauces can be problematic...clean fresh food is the way to go! Good luck it is seriously the best decision I've ever made.

Clams, oyster and mussels you have to wait on, probably post 6-8 weeks.

You can have fish, shrimp, lobster. You can have fish during soft foods.

Just be careful how it is prepared so you do not have a lot of extra carbs.

I have been eating raw tuna, salmon, and whitefish all of week 3. I make sure to chew it extra well and do not touch anything that isn't silky soft.

I have been doing well with fish, but had some shrimp today (cocktail style, without the cocktail sauce) and my sleeve did not like it at all. It took about an hour and a half for it to stop hurting. everyone is different, so you may be just fine.

I always had a hard time with shrimp because it was so fibrous. You really have to chew well. Shrimp and Lobster would get stuck alot if I didn't chew well enough. I love Shrimp. Walmart has extra small shrimp in freezer section however it does have a lot of sodium most likely due to freezing preservative. They are really tiny when cooked, but you still need to chew well. All other fish has been great. Fresh is better!

Glad I found this. I will be going to a Japanese restaurant for a friend's welcome home party at the end of my 3rd week. I've been pondering what exactly I could try as I know I will be tired of Soup. I was thinking tuna or salmon may be the way to go.

I love eating shellfish. Shrimp is very high in Protein and low in fat and calories. I am 7 weeks out and have had it weekly or more since 4 weeks.

@@TXTinana … I went to a Japanese restaurant on Saturday, right at 3 weeks out (on pureed food). It was my first meal out since the sleeve, and I enjoyed it so much!

I had a bowl of miso Soup (ate maybe half of a small bowl), agedashi tofu (ate 3 pieces and had a bit of the broth) and one sumai (I chewed it really, really well). I'm waiting for sashimi until soft foods (next week). I had no problem at all, other than a bit of gas, but I probably ate a little too much.

I love a broiled lobster tail. I buy them at the Fresh Market all the time and broil them in my toaster oven.

I eat shrimp too - I've had no problem with them.

I also eat salmon, flounder, grouper and haddock either broiled or cooked on my Nu Wave.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
