Need some help/advice

I'm one month out and I feel nauseous 80% of the time. Nothing sounds good and I really don't want to eat, ever. I force myself to eat but it's typically a Protein bar, and even then I can barely finish 1/2. I still drink most of my Protein, and am getting usually 70 grams a day, however, I only get about 300 ish calories sometimes up to 450.

It's not the food that makes me feel sick, it's just all the time. I actually hate having to eat bcs i never feel hungry and always feel sick. . It's quite miserable. Anyone experience this? Does it go away?

I will just be starting mushies at 21 days. So a month out will likely not be eating a Protein bar. Can you get some more calories/nutrients through Soups or juice? That is making all the difference in the world for me right now one week post-op. Also, I take Zofran three times per day for nausea. Going to ask them for a refill tomorrow. Not sure how long sleevers with hiatal hernia repairs are typically on the anti-nausea meds. I am a week out hitting 450 calories with three Protein shakes a day.

I am one week post op. liquids hurt on the way down almost all of the time (even sips of water), and I get sudden pains in the centre of my chest going through to my back several times a day. Trying hard not to regret having WLS ???? A week ago I was pain free. "Why did I do this to myself?" I keep asking. Really I had the surgery for my family, so I have more chance of being around while my kids grow up. My one goal in life is to see them safely to adulthood. But my uncle has just been diagnosed with a fairly rare genetic heart disorder, and my mum is being tested for it right now. If she is positive I will need to be tested, as will my kids. I may not live a long life anyway even if the sleeve is a success for me. It makes me question all my decisions. And on the weekend my eldest son's classmate was killed in a car accident (only eleven, and on her way to achieving some great things). It is a sad time here at the moment and makes me worry about everything.????

Talk with your doctor about it and see if he has some suggestions. At one month out I was allowed to eat some crackers and that helped me. I was sick of all the sweet tasting Protein and the crackers were a nice crunchy treat. Maybe you could try some soft cheeses instead of the Protein Bars and see if that helps. Good luck and let us know how you're doing in the future.

I had my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair on 8/12. Just stopped nausea meds. Nausea can also be the stomach's way of saying it hurts. So if nausea is worse after eating then was probably too much.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
