So I started my weight at 216 lbs and now after 3 weeks I'm 194, but I honestly still feel the same and I even feel fatter now, idk why? When I look in the mirror it looks like I've just gotten fatter? And I'm worried I'm not going to lose a lot of weight bc I'm not taking the Protein Powder? It's really hard for me to take the Protein powder mostly bc I'm so sick of milk bashed shakes...so idk if I've actually not lost any actual fat or if it's just self esteem

Yeah, not eating your Protein is NOT a good idea.

You better figure that one out. Try non-flavored Protein powder in broth. Talk to your surgeon. Find a solution.

Post-op eating isn't just designed to help you lose weight, but to help you recover from surgery, preserve your body muscle (like the muscle of your heart, kidneys, intestines, lungs, etc.) and not to fall ill.

You really need to get your Protein. Without it, you will lose your lean muscle mass - if you lose your lean muscle mass, you will become less efficient at burning calories, which is the exact opposite of what you want to do.

nectar is a good Protein Drink - I like the Roadside Lemonade. Chike makes a good one, too. There are sites that have sample packs of just about every Protein Drink on the market.

As far as "feeling" fat - I have those days still. There are days I still feel like I'm where I started some 75 pounds ago. I took my measurements and pictures - this really helped me on those days, especially when I felt like the scale wasn't moving as fast as my brain wanted it to. It was great looking back at my old pictures - it's motivating so see your face getting smaller and smaller.

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far. I suggest taking some pictures of yourself, like a before and after. This helped me appreciate how much my body has changed despite what the scale says.

I agree with the others ... you have to take in protein! you've put your body through something major ... and it needs that fuel to keep it going ... because you're not taking in other types of fuel right now ...

Don't let this one thing sabotage your success !

Keep plugging along ... you will get there!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
