Sleeved the end of May. Weight loss running about 2#/week. I have spells of dizziness and hearing loss that occur when I change from lying to up or even sitting to up. One was so bad that I passed out in the driveway, fell, and hurt my neck and back. I thought that getting off FloMax would stop them but it only lessened them some.

Trying to get my Water and Protein every day. Urine rarely dark yellow.

Anyone else had this related to GS?

Bob

Are you on any kind of BP meds? Sounds like what happened to me when my BP was low. I would check with you Doc to be sure.

I am getting them all the time. My doctor thinks it will resolve once my body stabilizes, but I've had a few times where I was worried about actually fainting (thankfully it hasn't happened yet). I am pretty good about Water, although sometimes I get only 7 instead of the 8 recommended glasses, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have never been on blood pressure meds. My bp is on the low side of normal now. She suggested increasing Water more. She also said that she has told one of her patients to drink the caffeinated version of coffee/tea once a day to help increase bp a little bit.

I had a history of high BP prior to surgery, now it's normal. Took my pulse last night and it was 50 though I workout in the pool 5days/week. BP at no certain time was about 150/80. Perhaps some salty food I had.

I'll try to drink more Water and see what pri doc says.

Tks.

Yesterday I was feeling really dizzy and my BP was 115/51 when I took it. I'm on BP meds and I see my PCP next week so I think we may have to change them. Today I got 116/64 when I took it.

My PCP told me today to stop my meds until I see her next week. I got 103/64 this morning and this evening was 109/63. I've had a lot of light headedness.

I get this randomly. Some days it happens a lot and other days it doesn't happen at all. I have had to hold on to tables and walls at times because things get a little "black" after I get up. I checked my BP a couple times after this happened and it was fine. Not sure what it's about! Will have to see what my doc says this Friday is my 3 month follow up.

Long story short you are not alone.

Ate more Protein today and didn't have any wicked dizzy spells. Had some partial hearing loss spells which usually accompany the dizziness but alone today.

@@Mulepick - sounds like you are dehydrated. Drink more. I had periods of that since last November and had the complete cardiac workup, labs, echo etc. My surgeon told me it was dehydration. I would definitely run it passed your physician just in case it might be something different. Could also be inner ear too. Hope you feel better!

I had lightheadness early on when I was weak. Dizzy when dehydrated.

But, the fluctuating hearing is what concerns me. I am an audiologist. This may be something completely different. If the symptoms don't resolve soon with the help of your PCP I recommend you seek a consult with an ENT. Good luck!

I DID THE VERY SAME THING - LISTEN CLOSE BECAUSE I SUFFERED AND WISH I HAD KNOWN THE FOLLOWING. HAVE YOUR Iron CHECKED - MY INITIAL CAUSE FOR ALL THE DIZZINESS AND LIGHT HEADEDNESS AND JUST BEING PLAIN MISERABLE WAS LOW IRON, THE OTHERWILL BE KEEPING HYDRATED.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
