Not hungry ever, always thisty

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on 8/10 and I haven't yet started to feel hungry but I'm am overwhelmingly thirsty. I can never seem to get enough Water. I went for a hike yesterday and boy was that a big mistake. I was so thirsty and hot and could not get enough water. How do you guys manage exercise without being able to drink a lot of water? Any tips and tricks? At home Powerade zero has helped but I'm just always thirsty...

As you heal you will be able to drink more....you're still at the stage where you just have to sip...sip...sip....set a timer....to sip every 5 min or so....

Take advantage of not being hungry. I am 10 weeks post op and still do not get hungry, but my doctor said it will come soon enough. I do not exercise much outside, but while I workout inside, I constantly sip, seriously a sip every couple minutes and that seems to work for me right now. Keep up the good work and exercise!

My brother had the surgery over 5 years ago and still does not have the sensation of being hungry ever. I am hoping for this myself! Surgery is September 8th.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
