I was on Clear Liquids for the first week after surgery and full liquids the second week. Right after surgery, for several week to a month, I didn't really have "meals". I spent all day sipping liquid, Protein Shakes, Soup, etc. It was pretty much continuous. I could consume such small quantities at a time it would take all day to get in all my Protein and fluids.

I can no longer at least for now eat anything milk related so Greek yogurt whey shakes ricotta etc all out for me I'm pureeing cooked chicken and veg Soup and eating that 3 times a day managing about half a small tea cup at a time maybe a little less. Taking 20 mons to manage that. Also sleeve doesn't like cold plain Water so living on herbal caffeine free fruity teas. Forgot to mention I'm on day 5.

I think you are mistaken. I am 2 days post op and am on liquids. 3 to 4 Protein shakes(8oz each) plus an additional 16 oz of liquids. Soft food not recommended until week 2 or 3 depending on your MD.

Don't assume they are mistaken. Every surgeon has different post-op diet requirements. Mine allows for soft food on day three as well, including tuna. I plan to be more strict than what he allows. It's a small amount, but it's in the plan.post-257570-14403538111461_thumb.jpg

Don't assume the poster is mistaken. I was on full solids at 10 days out. That's the plan my surgeon uses. He doesn't want people using Protein shakes as a replacement for real food for very long.

Everyone is going to be different. At 14 days out I could eat a small salad and 4-5 oz of steak.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
