Sick and Tired of Protein!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Does anybody have any good Protein recipes? I drink the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Protein. I wanted to something top it to give it some type of flavor because I'm sick of drinking plain old chocolate. I'm 18 days post op.

Thanks

I'm still preop but I've heard a lot of people using the PB2 Peanut Butter powder and adding it or the coffee syrups just sugar free. They are by the coffee, it's Tocani or something like that I believe. Also sugar free pudding mix. These are just some things I heard in my research and my support group.

Also you may be able to find some good ideas on Pinterest if you're on there. I have a secret board that I use for sleeve info and recipes. My surgery date is 9/9. ;)

You might try some of the other Protein supplements that are far tastier.

At 2 weeks post op I changed to Premier Protein brand ready made shakes which are delicious with no Protein smell. Each has 30grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar and 160 calories.

There are tons of recipes out there to add things to them. The beauty of these shakes is so many grams in one shake. In the beginning I only had to drink 2 a day and I was at 60 grams, I then had to get 10 grams from food.

You can get then at Sam's or costco and sometimes Walgreens. Make sure they are very cold.

Also, Syntrax has grab and go hectares that you add to Water or milk, they are actually delicious. Fuzzy naval, vanilla bean torte and caribbean cooler are among my favorites. I also don't notice that horrible Protein Powder taste with these.

It is way too soon for you to be sick of protein so you need to find one that works for you.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
