I believe the proper term is. belt lipectomy. Its like a Tummy Tuck but all around the body with muscle repairs. I only had that done dr didnt want to put me under to long. This took 4 hrs. And they removed 10 lbs of skin.

@@proudgrammy there are two kinds of body lift.

Most people are referring to the lower body lift (LBL).., which is a Tummy Tuck PLUS a lift on the backside! What you wind up with is a scar around your whole lower torso. I about passed out when that was recommended for me at my consults. I am however.. ever so glad I did it. The back of the body lift is my worst scar (most of my plastics scars are near invisible 2 years post plastics) but I still think it was worth it! I didnt have any "butt work" but the LBL seemed to have put my ass back where it belongs. :)

Upper body lift is much less common. That is for people who have excess skin on their upper torso (think side and back boobs!) that they need skin removal up high. I am not doing that procedure. Whilst I have side boobs with the wrong undergarment, I feel very grateful that most of the time, it really isn't a problem.

Hi MichiganChic - my numbness is not as extreme as your numbness. I am 2-year out from my body contouring and facial plastic surgeries. These surgeries were performed by two different plastic surgeons, both tops in their respective areas. And from each surgery I still have areas of numbness, some more pronounced than others. It is a strange feeling but something that I have begun to grow accustomed to. It sure beats feeling those rolls of excess skin!

I hope this helps.

I was just talking to the nurse at my last appointment about this. She was shocked to hear that it took me several years to regain all nerves at my csection scar. But everyone is different and on a different schedule. Nerve regeneration is very complex.

@@jess9395 I still get intermittent itching! It's due to nerve damage. I always hope it's trying to regenerate when that happens.

@@My Bariatric Life I totally agree. I'll take the numbness over the dripping skin and fat! My entire abdomen is so tight that if I overeat or gain a couple of pounds, the numbness spreads and gets worse! Talk about a continuous reminder to stay on track :) I didn't know to expect this, but I had read that people who have plastics statistically do better at keeping weight off. I don't know if things like that contribute, but it does help me.

@@MichiganChic ewww, my abdominal area feels really bad when I overeat and/or gain weight. So, yes, it helps to motivate me to stay fit -- as well as all that freaking money I spent on plastic surgery that should not go to waste!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
