Try and walk daily - a few times a day. Losing 14 lbs is awesome !!! And After surgery do everything you can to get up and walk. If only for a few steps - keep moving you will feel so good. I've been walking and walking ( thankfully I have a couple dogs ) and I feel really good. Walking before surgery helps your body heal faster .... Good luck !!! I'm so excited to be part of this with everyone !!! I have my follow up w surgeon this afternoon - very exciting

Doing better today, yesterday was rough. I don't do well with anasethsia so I knew going in recovery would suck. Gas pain was a killer. Feeling a little better today, up walking around.

I'm down a little over 15 pounds in 10 days. It makes me question whether I should just stick to the liquid diet until I lose all the weight, but I know as soon as I started eating again, it would all come back plus some. Today was the first time I've ever tested my blood sugar and gotten under 200! It's still high at 178, but it's lower than I've ever seen it since I've been testing in the last 2 years.

Yesterday was a lot easier for me in terms of making it through the liquid diet without feeling starving. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I was SUPER busy at work and didn't have time to think about it.

I love my wife so much for cooking fresh chicken stock for me and I really like having a hot cup of green tea before bed. Last night I felt like I had enough energy to go to the gym and exercise, but I got home at 7:30, had to do homework with my daughter and feed her, and work from 9 to midnight remotely doing IT maintenance stuff so there was no time. No work tonight so I'll see how I feel.

My surgery is only 4 days away and the closer it gets the more real it feels. Unlike many of the people here who planned and worked for it for a six months to a year, from start to finish for me it's 2 months so I've had less time for it to sink in.

In the area of TMI.... I had to poo last night for the first time in about 4-5 days and it felt like I was passing rocks followed by Water but I felt a lot better afterwards.

I didn't lose as much pre-op. My consultation was 8/19 and surgery 9/11. So I am like you - not much time to let it sink in !!! Good luck !!!

I am now 15 days out from surgery. I felt great during the 1.5 weeks I was out of work. I have returned to work and feel weak. I am getting my Protein in through Protein shakes and some food but I just feel weak now that I am trying to return to my life. I am consuming 600 cal/day and having problems getting in more. Any suggestions?

Oh and I am also getting adequate fluids in.

Try and walk walk walk. Any spare time during work and before and after work. The fresh air will help so much. I've been tired too but I get up and walk and honestly I feel better than I ever thought

Quick correction: I initially weighed in at the hospital where I work and did my 2nd weigh in at home. It seems like my home scale is much kinder. I just weighed in on the samr scale I weighed in on the first time so I have only lost 12 pounds in 10 days, not 18. I knew it was too good to be true.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
