mouse1972rb 24 Posted September 19, 2015 Hi my date is the 29th for surgery. Kinda nervous same time just want it done n over with... Reasons why im doing it is that i have chronic back pain that 4 of my doctors have told me that the surgery will improve the pain.. Not to mention the polyneuropathy i have and the crazy pain that is caused by it. That has been my downfall with weight gain i hurt to much to move... So im crossing fingers that my 310 weight will drop along with pain levels. Huggs to everyone that already went and those that are prepping!!
pindoctor 49 Posted September 19, 2015 I am 2.5 weeks postop and had been struggling with energy since returning to work this week. It was suggested that I try walking. Well I'm proud to say that yesterday I walked 15 min and today I walked 20 min. It wasn't easy but I definitely felt good afterward. I'm going to keep working on this. Good luck to everyone! dragonfly78 16 Posted September 19, 2015 Awesome pindoctor! I'm so glad to say the yesterday and today have been much more successful with intake at my 3 meals and Protein Shake. I ventured out with my husband and daughter today and had half an egg over medium and a small piece of sausage at Bob Evans. We went out to Applebee's for dinner and I order the chicken grillers from the kids menu (just have to tell them you had surgery) and I was able to get in about 3 ounces of the moist grilled chicken. It is possible to still participate in the real world occasionally, even at a few weeks post op!
pindoctor 49 Posted September 20, 2015 Dragonfly78. Good going. I'v ebeen able to eat eggs although they are not tasting as good. I'm not sure I could stomach a piece of saugsage. I have managed a couple of eat out meals. One I had a cup of Tomato Soup and that was good. The other I had a bowl of chili. I had a few bites and took the rest home and packaged into 2 oz condiment cups for 5 additional meals. At this point cottage cheese seems to agree the best with my stomach. dragonfly78 16 Posted September 22, 2015 I found making an egg over medium so the yolk breaks is so much more smooth and flavorful. The sausage surprised me going down as well as it did. I've had an issue with ground chicken as it's rubbery and an issue with reheated grilled chicken since it dried out a little. I got some nice moist turkey from Boston market today and some chicken Soup, very brothy and did really well. It's nice to find some good variations to have now. pindoctor 49 Posted September 22, 2015 I'll try the egg over medium. What diet are you on now? I am still on pureed foods for another 9 days. I am not allowed grilled chicken yet. The moist turkey from Boston Market sounds good. At nighttime I have been eating a couple slices of turkey lunchmeat (well chewed) and this has been good as well. Today for lunch I had Tomato Basil Bisque Soup and this was delicious but I could only consume a 1/3 of the bowl.
