violetroyalty 25 Posted August 21, 2015 Hey guys! So I'm 4 days post op and I'm in so much pain, they prescribed me the Percocet but it only alleviates the pain slightly, I can barely move, I still do my walks tho but to lay down or get up or even walking in hunched over because of the pain, is this normal? How did you cope with the pain?
violetroyalty 25 Posted August 21, 2015 Sorry if I posted this in the wrong lace :/
FFDoc180 2 Posted August 21, 2015 Did you have the same pain while in the hospital after surgery? If they gave you a binder with all the info in it there's a page that's like a troubleshooting guide. For pain due to gas or other issues. That would really help you narrow it down a little better.
violetroyalty 25 Posted August 21, 2015 I didn't receive nothing like that is the same pain but now is constant, if it continues I think I'm going to the ER because it really starts to hurt a lot
WL WARRIOR 692 Posted August 21, 2015 This sounds normal to me as far as what I went through. I could not rise from a sitting position or reach to grab anything without terrible stomach pain. Rising from a laying down position was just about impossible. There were a few times when I fell asleep on the couch and had to drop to all fours in order to make it to the bathroom. I slept on my back for at least two weeks because it was too painful to sleep on my side. You could call your bariatrician/surgeon to see if you are experiencing anything abnormal. It should get better in a few days, however.
FFDoc180 2 Posted August 21, 2015 That's your best bet & they'll be able to lead you along. Also everyone is different. I'm looking for that page in my binder. When I find it I'll post it, it maybe of some help as a guide to follow

Miss Mac 6,262 Posted August 21, 2015 A surprising advantage of being old and creaky is that I already had a lift recliner at home. It did all the work in getting me up, and I slept in it for a few nights, too. Don't be lifting anything for a while. My limit was five pounds for the first six weeks. I do not know how parents with little kidlets cope. My respect to you all.
WL WARRIOR 692 Posted August 21, 2015 I actually had to use one of those claw sticks to grab things out of reach. It actually helped a lot so that I didn't have to reach, twist, or bend. Its quite beneficial if you have no one else at home to get things for you.
glitter eyes 1,398 Posted August 21, 2015 I found it painful to go from a sitting/lying position to standing also after surgery. I used a small travel sized pillow and used that to brace my stomach and that helped so much. I was actually attached to that little pillow and used it for several weeks. Good luck it will get easier as time passes.
