Okey dokey I really didn't,mean to upset you, you were the first person on. B P. that made me welcome, made me feel like I was somebody. Even when I don't feel worthwhile you've perked me up, sure I am a little jelly, but I am overjoyed you've turned up victorious. I've watched from a far- and thought Dayum if she can do this, there is some hope for mine. I won't volunteer anymore, won't even quote you if you don't want me to, but please don't block me off. You, Creekimp, Little Green and the rest you're my Bari buds.

Repentantly --'moi

Look, I enjoy your posts and your compassion. But I don't do "guilt" or "martyrdom". No one should be jelly of me. I'm as big a sinner as ever a sinner there was. I'm not looking for acolytes, but I always welcome buds. But like anyone, I appreciate speaking for myself and not having others presume to know what I think or feel. If that makes me Big B-i-t-c-h Fluffy? Then so be it. But we all have a right to our own narrative and I won't be pushed or manipulated through martyrdom. My mom was the queen of that BS Sh*t Show and I never bought into it then and won't start now at 55.

And you should not have to,you're right and I overstepped, I'm sorry again. I was only jelly that things seemed to fall in place so well and maybe I'm being punished because I'm not worthy. I forget how you had to claw your way to surgery over all the roadblocks in your path. You triumphed, I only hope I do. Can we still be friends?

Well it is Social Security day, better stop crying and go pay bills before I lose my cable and everything else. I am a martyr but I've gotten kinda used to it. Bye for a few hours.

Ugh! Why on earth would anyone be jelly of me?

And more manipulation. You are no more and no less "worthy" of surgery than any of us schmoes on the internet. To say otherwise is to manipulate the truth or is delusional. I don't do delusional thoughts either. And no. You should NOT try to "walk" into surgery rather the ride on a gurney.

You have Fluffy Chix and you have me. . . You do have a problem with mobility lacking. Could you replace a meal a day with a Protein Shake? I'll puzzle on this a while, my granny, may she rest in peace, had a motto
The Good Lord never made an itch he didn't make a scratcher to fit it! To put it another way, there's always an answer we just have to find it. I'll put my Wiley Coyote brain to work, remember his motto was Genius At Work, there's go to be something.

Thanks! I've been thinking on it today and decided I'm going to have to do Protein Shakes. It's just too hard to prepare a meal (because of hand pain) and my GERD is so bad that most meals are pretty unappetizing to me. And plain chicken breasts with plain steamed veggies do get old :) I've been looking at marinades and sauces/seasonings to use, but most will just aggravate the situation. Supposedly that will go away after surgery.

I never manage to eat Breakfast, but now I have to because I've been put on prednisone (must take with food or milk). And also because I'm supposed to have the 3 meals per day. So I decided that for now my morning meds are going to be taken with a shake. So a shake, then maybe a nice noon meal following the guidelines and then a shake for dinner. Maybe if I drop some weight my hip won't hurt as bad as it does now?

(p.s. I got weirdly lucky with my apartment I moved into a few years back. The only one they had available was the wheelchair-accessible one. And now that's pretty nice to have (even though I am not in a chair)--the guardrails in the bath are really helpful. And the apartment is so small that I always have a counter or bookcase to use as a steadying device. I'm looking for a wheeled desk chair that I can just roll into the kitchen--right now I can't stand long enough to really prepare much of a meal [or wash dishes], but there is space under the sink to pull a chair under.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
