So had my 1 month check and NUT said I don't have to use Protein Powder anymore. Do I'm trying eggs, cheese, chicken, fish, lean steak for all 3 meals. I'm also drinking Protein milk which I actually like. Just joined a gym today focusing on swimming at the moment I'm 30 lbs down but I'm still jst over 23 stone ;(

I'm really going to struggle with afterwards, I hate those Protein shakes, I don't like any shakes full stop. I'm also allergic to egg and fish.

Greetings one and all.

Got sleeved on Oct 14th at Kings in Denmark Hill.

Things are a tad different to how they used to be :-)

As many have said, Protein shakes are pretty awful and given that my taste buds are on strike re sweet things it's proving to be a bit of a headache :-)

That's great news on your wait loss... I had to fight 18months for this surgery. As I had the band done privately surprising after when you pay so much m9ney the surgeon don't want to know or even admit when it goes wrong. I would never recommend band myself . I have not heard from dietician. So started the Fluid diet myself knowing that it will give me the best chance .

I'm a year post-op and eat real food. However, on the days when I am working, I have a Protein Shake for lunch (for convenience and because I don't have enough time to eat solid food during the lunch hour).

I use these Protein Shakes. The sachets are not cheap, but they are very palatable. The chocolate, mint chocolate, lemon meringue, cinnamon latte and gingerbread ones are particularly yummy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
