You need to really work towards getting a minimum of 60g of Protein if you can Sam. I know it's hard early on but it's vital.

Yes eating slow is hard my dietician wants Me to stop shakes but I don't think I can make the 60 without my one shake made with total Greek yogurt each day. Other than that he really happy with my progress. The next 4 weeks are going to be a challenge. Festive meals and treats every where only safe place is our house. So glad I have the bypass as this will keep sugary treats at arms length : ) keep in touch guys

I do, I love it. I used it on and off before having the surgery too and feels it really does keep me accountable.

Greek yogurt (best is Total Farge 0% which you can get in Tescos) There are lots of Greek ones but watch the carbs!

Cottage cheese, eggs, Milk (highish in carbs though, until in mantenance)

Ground beef, turkey, chicken and fish, salmon, halibut shrimps, sardines, light tuna in Water ... Pork is high in Protein too. ( I had fillet of pork with a tiny bit of apple sauce, sprouts, cauliflower and a couple of asparagus for dinner tonight # yum)

The Protein powder can be added to coffee (decaf!) and Soups but don't add it when the drink/soup is hot or it will curdle. I also love my Protein latte which I have every morning at work.

Check out www.myprotein.com - and www.discountsuppliments.com

I order a lot through myprotein.com.

I find it difficult still to eat my food slowly. Years of gobbling it down and looking for more takes time to stop doing! I still find getting enough Protein is a problem too but I have at last found a Protein Bar that I can manage to eat.

I also track my food with my fitness pal and I wear a fit bit too and both of these things keep me aware of what I am doing and eating. Even my other half has lost a bit of weight - he is slim so does not need to really, but we have little junk food in the house and what there is I am not bothered about eg crisps ice cream biscuits and chocolate. I have been very happy with my weight loss and just love to see the scales showing a smaller weight and also the clothes size going down. Good luck to us all anyone in Wales ?

Have managed so far. Just exploring food to see what my sleeve likes and doesn't like. Was lucky I went over to someone's house for turkey dinner so no leftovers to contend with and no snacks!!! How have you managed?

Hi guys I'm 3 weeks post op now and still struggling with Protein I'm on mushy so I have scrambled egg with cheese and protein milk but I'm still way too low. Bought the unflavoured whey protein and a chocolate one but I find them so sickening. Hope everyone doing well.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
