family doctor put me on aspirin many years ago

one "side effect" good or bad

it can act like a blood thinner

12 days prior to WLS surgeon told me to stop taking aspirin

12 days PO - i was told to restart

I spoke with my doctor's office today and they only give you and injection before you go home. But you're on Heparin will in the hospital.

Yes, I am on shots for 30 days

Post op. They really don't hurt and I would rather be safe then sorry ...

Not post discharge. I was in the hospital 2 nights and I got heparin shots every 4 hours while I was there. I went home with 22 bruises from the shots and the blood draws.

I already take blood thinners. So my usual way to manage a surgery is to stop pills 4-5 days preop and start tummy injections 2x per day. Continue post op as directed. Not sure how long they will keep me on the shots after.
