OK I remember u r about a week out. I am not a medical professional and honestly I would not normally say go against your NUT but before you tried food this early, I would at least try Protein shake instead - unless there is so me medical reason that your Dr doesn't allow it. The Protein Shake would certainly be a much safer choice than food. And it will help with the hunger. Just take it slow. Make it a good choice (high Protein / low sugar).

. Yea they were just worried about calories. Never gave a real reason . Ima look soon

The Premier Protein ready made shakes are 160 calories with 30g of protein and only 1g of carb (I think - it might be 4g) and is 11 oz. They are very good - or at the very least tolerable. So, does your NUT work at your dr's office? If not, I think I would call the surgeon's office and ask for the nurse. When do you go back for your first follow up?

Girl I don't think I could make it without the Protein Shakes however the vanilla shakes (milk based but I mix with water) that I was doing before surgery go right through me so. I've been doing Protein Water from GNC. I get to start having soft foods after Tuesday. Funny because the first thing I'm looking at is refried Beans lol . Hang in there. I had to start a new plan on my bible You Version App today because I really needed a distraction. It was a gloomy day! ❤️

I read my plan today to and went for a walk. A great distraction .. But the rumbles are loud lol ..

If you are not having Protein shakes what are you having?

When I was at your stage, lamb broth really helped me with cravings.

Ah, ladies, if you are not getting enough Protein, like I wasn't, expect for your hair to start falling out. I had some hair flying out, I freaked out and thanks to another lady here found a good solution for me. Went to the health store and picked up two bottles of Isopure. Tried the black tea- real lemony but had worse and I am tired of shakes, so it was nice to drink a liquid. Not the best tea in the world, but with 40 g of protein in 20 oz, I am sold. I also bought the punch flavor, that is for manana =) I am so .... happy

If you look around on the site they have a lot of flavors. You might want to look around where you live. I think Vitamin Shoppe has the single serve sample packs, and so do supplement stores, not health food stores. Look for the stores the meat heads go to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
