forbradley 2 Posted August 19, 2015 Hello friends! Has anyone tried using itworks wraps to help with saving skin? Any feedback?
WorkinOnMe 596 Posted August 19, 2015 Haha .... wearing my first one as I type! My cousin & a friend of mine are both distributors. This is the photo I saw that prompted me to try them. I don't have quite so much loose skin (yet) but figured I would give it a shot! I also use the It Works Greens everyday. It has helped with my mild heartburn & added some energy. TXMissy 211 Posted August 20, 2015 I'd really like to know the results. I have been taking their hair and nail Vitamins. Seeing great results!
IndieDivaIN 39 Posted August 20, 2015 The mechanism is shrink wrapping the skin and with compression it makes reabsorbsorption of the lymph and Water in the tissues of the skin possible, so after taking off the wrap you will see more definition of the muscles underneath because the swelling of Fluid in the skin layer is squeezed and enters the blood stream. sort of like wearing compression hose limits swelling....So they recommend to drink plenty of fluids after wrapping to help with excretion. now i have not had it last, used it at least 8-10 x on belly, upper arms, thighs, and also the facial/neck...can see some subtle difference after wrapping but it does not get rid of the fat layer, just the fluid and lymph in the skin,......Is good short term for an event or something. geronimo 52 Posted August 20, 2015 Sorry, but this sounds like just another entry in the billion dollar weight loss product industry. If it actually worked the way it's advertised, then we wouldn't be getting bariatric surgeries. I wrestled in varsity, and we used to employ techniques such as shrink wrapping ourselves and running in a hot shower in order to drop pounds quickly to make weight right before a match. And, sure, it worked - temporarily. You lose some Water weight, it acts like compression, etc. But, again, it's temporary. I saw a few ads for this that claimed it "creates lean muscle", and "melts away excess fat". There is no way this creates new muscle, or actually burns away real fat. Amazon customers have rated this at 2.4 stars out of 5, which isn't great: http://www.amazon.com/The-Ultimate-Body-Applicator-Wraps/product-reviews/B005LP5AA4 Another site's customers rated this at 53%: http://www.realself.com/Body-Wrap/reviews I'm just throwing this out there because I'd hate for people to buy this thinking it's really going to help them drop 40lbs and gain six-pack abs. But, as a previous poster pointed out, if you want to drop a few quick pounds for some event (like attending a wedding), I'm sure this will help out.
WorkinOnMe 596 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) First off, It Works doesn't claim to melt off pounds or make you lose weight with their wraps. It is used to tighten & tone skin. If you looked at the photo I posted the person didn't need to lose any more weight...she had already done that. I was wrapped by a distributor, it was not 'compression' or tight. The over wrap is light & simply holds the wrap in place (or use plastic wrap because it is a household staple). Nor is it losing Water weight as you need to drink more water. If you are purchasing these through Amazon, I don't know that they are real. The only place I would trust is a distributor. The claim is that it will tighten & tone & firm. You may lose inches but not pounds. It does not claim to add muscle, nor does it say it will melt fat. If you are using them for any of these reasons I would not doubt failure. However, I am starting to get loose skin from rapid weight loss & this is one way to try to tighten that up a little. I spoke to a distributor I trust & am happy to share the info when I get it. TXMissy 211 Posted August 22, 2015 My goal at this point is not to loose weight. I have lost a lot of weight. My skin is the issue. I have talked to several people that have told me it worked for them, but you do have to maintain it. I'm a little against another surgery. I don't think my husband or kids can handle another surgery either.
