Restriction from nowhere

Recommended Posts

So I got a fill about 8 weeks ago after a complete unfill back in May. I'm only at 4.5 in a 14cc band. I'm scheduled to go next week for another fill, because I haven't had that much restriction and I've been able to eat everything I want.

This past Friday, I started to notice restriction slightly, and it has steadily increased until yesterday I actually had a PB episode. It's not my TOM. I didn't eat dinner last night, and today Ive had Water and chicken powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury.

Should I be concerned about the suddeness of this? Yes, my allergies have been going wonky but I get shots and they help, and I've been taking suphedrine to try to dry up the drainage. And yes there is some batiatric pressure going on with a front trying to come through

I'm debating about canceling my appt next week and rescheduling for October.

Any thoughts? Should I be worried or should I ride it out and see what happens?

I'd keep your appointment and simply inform them what is going on....

The band does do strange things. Restriction can increase and decrease for no consistent reason. People have all sorts of theories why, but it can happen anytime for me ad after 4-1/2 years I still can pin it down other than a few things will cause band tightness such as irritation from eating the wrong foods.

I am the tightest first thing in the morning, and have not had a solid Breakfast since surgery.

There are days I feel I can eat anything, then there are days I do not eat anything...have no idea why.

Sometimes I am forced to eat nothing but Soups, etc for my dinner.

It comes and goes.

I have been banded going on 5 years, and i know my band's behavior very well....but I absolutely have no idea what is going on with your body....4.5cc in a 14cc band sounds to me like nothing,

But stick with your appointment and see what your Dr. says....by then this may have all passed.

Thanks. It's only been 2.5 years and I'm still learning with this. I've been drinking as much Water as I can, but I think it's my allergies and the barometric pressure. When I take the suphedrine, I get a window that I can eat in.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
