Congrats on your new journey! Every plan is different, and every person reacts differently. At 7 days I was on full liquids (which includes yogurt, blended Soups, SF Jello, SF pudding/custard, etc). However a friend was on a different stage at this same point.

I would check with your Dr or NUT to see exactly where they want you, but in my experience NO, you should not have potatoes or eggs yet.

Hang in there though. You are healing & soon enough you will see the benefits of waiting it out.

Pretty much! I ate things like golden mushroom soup, but couldnt have the chunks of mushroom. So throw it in the blender (or ninja) and puree the heck out of it! I also addes spices to my Soups to make them more savory. So, in my mushroom soup I added curry powder, cumin and paprika. In my cream of chicken (blend up those chicken pieces!) I added adobo, garlic & onion powder. In my Tomato I added Italian seasoning, garlic and basil. They tasted sooooo much better!

Hi @@Jlwest! I'm on Day 8! My saving grace right now is Hibachi Soup (aka Japanese Onion Soup). My hubby orders it to go for me (without the garnishes) and it is sooooooo delicious! Not bland like most broths and I actually feel like I'm having real food. I hope you have a Hibachi restaurant nearby!

I do and I might do that lol not sure that I remember liking it though .... Wanna say it tasted like chicken broth so I dunno about that lol ... Iv just come to the conclusion that I'm just going to take it one day at a time ... Tomorrow I'll have something to eat and when tomorrow comes I'll tell myself tomorrow I'll eat .... Til next Thursday anyway ... Can't come soon enough

Also thank you for explaining that blended Soup thing ... Prolly gonna give that a shot and see what happens :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
