I am 2 months post op and not losing..I have lost 26 lbs..so far.. I have a few questions and I need some input from others..Please help...

I am soooo tired all of the time and I feel hungry all of the time.. I crave sweets and that is a big downfall of mine..Question...why can't we have caffine? Energy drinks?

Also, I am so afraid I am doing things all wrong and I will mess things up...Can this be done? I walk every morning and every evening and using the fit bit..Getting close to 10000 steps a day..but nothing seems to be happening..I have been the same weight for 10 days now and feel I don't eat much of anything.

I can't stand the Protein shakes...I get my Protein with Core Power..It has 20 grams of protein and I drink at least 3 - 4 a day..Is this a good enough way to get protein without shakes? HELP

What do you mean by Core Power? Are you talking about their shakes? If so and you're drinking 4 a day, you're getting way too many carbs and sugar. 4 of those shakes a day is 112 grams of carbs and 104 grams of sugar. That's too much at this point.

Are you drinking the light ones? Even so that's 52 grams of carbs and 44 grams of sugar which still may be too much depending on what else you are taking in. That much sugar may be making you crave more of it.

Are you on real food yet? I was at that point and I didn't do Protein shakes at all.

You are at the same place I was at 2 months. It's 3 months now and 32 lbs lost. I just don't get discouraged. All of a sudden one day it all comes together. You are just about to that point. I was you! Now I am feeling great, don't feel so hungry all the time. I was okay'd for coffee at 4 weeks. Just don't drink it as one of your liquids for the day. Keep drinking Water. Also I just drink one cup a day.

I don't know about core power. I drink at least one premier shake a day and get the rest from food.< /p>

Definitely too much sugar. That's why your body is craving more. You have to try a different one. Also what else are you drinking? I started drinking coffee after I was cleared for regular food. I keep to my 4oz between coffee, G2 and crystal lite.

Most energy drinks are carbonated and provide unnecessary Vitamins since you're taking others to keep your energy up along with Protein.< /p>

Try the muscle milk pro series. It has 40 grams of protein per bottle.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
