rgmoe_718 7 Posted September 3, 2015 I am 20 and I just had the gastric sleeve procedure done on September 1st. I spent 2 days in the hospital. The first day I was in a lot of pain post op. They prescribed me morphine which had me in and out of sleep all day. After I was transferred from recovery to my room , I asked if I could get up and walk. That's the key, WALKING. I took (2) 5 minute walks and I began to feel better. As far as pain, the pain came from stiff limbs and gas being pushed up from the abdominal cavity. My second day in the hospital I was taken to an XRay lab to check for any leaks. There were no leaks and my Dr told me I could move on to the first stage of the liquid diet Intaking 4oz of liquid per hour. For me it was difficult to keep the liquids down because the gas in my chest kept on pushing the liquids back up making me nauseous. My Dr prescribed me oxycodon, stool softener, and meds to control nausea and he also cleared me to come home. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
