Ronnie820 6 Posted August 17, 2015 Hi everyone – I'm new to these boards and very very new to weight-loss surgery. After years of thinking about it, I'm scheduled for lap band surgery on August 20. That's four days away – not that I'm counting. My surgeon is Dr. Christine Ren at NYU. I've been on the preop liquid diet for 10 days and have lost 20 pounds so far. I'm very nervous about the changes this will bring. Just hoping for some support and good words from others who have gone before me. And most of all – any helpful tips. Thanks in advance, Ronnie

KindaFamiliar 3,867 Posted August 17, 2015 G'day Ronnie... I was sleeved in Feb and it was the first time I'd been unconscious, let alone had surgery... I was nervous... Not scared tho... And I survived!!! You'll be fine... Be as nervous as you like tho... The reality is, it's a big thing you're doing... Not the surgery so much... But the your entire existence and outlook on life may be about to change... And trust me... No matter how shitty the post-surgery diet and stuff feels, it's all totally worth it... You're doing a great thing... Enjoy it!! And if you've any questions or anything, just flick me a PM.. Kinda...
