Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie and i was banded in 2012 but i fell off the bandwagon. I want to start over and i was looking for a support group but the only one i found hadn't been posted in in 2 years. Anyone have suggestions on a good support group on here for people like myself? Any advice would be appreciated! :)

How are things across the pond Maddie? I think I just might have to make another trip over to your neck of the woods again. Maybe I'll explore other parts of the UK. Have always wanted to see the Yorkshire area and Scotland.

Thanks so much for the help, I'm about to have knee surgery next Thursday so I'm not able to do much right now but hopefully I will soon. I am going to try the 5 day pouch test soon to help jump start some progress. ????

Stephanie..I had both hips replaced and the pool was a life saver for me. Check with your doctor about when you can go in the Water and find a gym or a Y with a pool. I both swim laps and do water exercise classes. It's great for resistance but easy on the joints due to the buoyancy.

Stephanie;

We are in t he same boat. I had my lap band a year ago May - lost 65 lbs - had some life interfere and the old habits started coming back - I want so badly to start over - not sure I know how - please keep in touch - maybe together we can do it. I have joined a wellness center with a pool and am trying to go every morning - I have so much arthritis (two knees, one hip, I am fused from T-10 all the way down) so the Water is so good in many ways - but it is also exercise - I'll be watching for you

It's great to know there is someone with the same type issues as me???? I have a lot of arthritis too and bone spurs. My hips are ok for now but right knee is getting partially replaced this week. We have a jacuzzi but we need to fill it, and maybe i could use that to help.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
