Hello everyone, I had my sleeve on June 4th and I'm down 115 lbs. Never in my life did I think I would lose the weight so fast. I started my diet 3 weeks pre op so the weight has come off in about 13 weeks.ive gone from a size 50 waist to a 40 waist and a 4 xl shirt to a xl. I'm struggling though with fatigue . I'm taking Vitamins and I've seen my DR. But no mention of anything . I Aliso found myself a nutritionist and her advice was Protein 3 times a day no matter what. As a lot of you know that is easier said than done. Any advice that's worked for others?

Try drinking more Water.

It really helps.

Also working out more. It seems counterintuitive but it works like a charm.

@@Bryce Juneau Sr. Are you taking a B Vitamin? If not get some. Losing rapid amounts of weight is rough on the body, it's trying to keep up so you can expect some fatigue, rest when you can.

I think that's the fastest I've EVER heard of anyone losing after WLS.

That is so not normal.

For one thing, your kidneys must be exhausted just pumping out all the waste products from weight loss.

Be sure you drink, drink, drink, drink, drink Water.

And at your rate of weight loss, you should be eating some carbs for energy.

I hope your nutritionist is a good one.

Wow! Your weight loss is incredible!! For my Protein, I do one shake per day of ISO 100 (I buy it on Amazon because its cheaper) and I also eat a Protein Bar called Pure Protein every day. The shake has 28 grams of protein and the bar has 20 so between the 2 things I get 48 grams just in those not counting my food intake is getting me to my protein goals. For the fatigue, are you drinking caffeine at all? I stopped all caffeine at the time of surgery and I work out regularly and do the protein and I rarely feel tired now. Try those things and see if it helps! Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
