ryebread 17 Posted August 18, 2015 Scheduled for 8/31 and I'm scared too! I know it's the right thing but just anxious. Glad to find this forum today. ???? You're in good company! We have the same surgery date too. Did you start your pre-op diet yet? I had to start mine last week.
EllasMom 5 Posted August 18, 2015 @@ryebread I've been dieting according to the nutritionist guidelines but my doc only has a requirement for a liquid diet 24 hours prior. I find that strange seeing all the posts about a pure liquid diet for a week plus but I specifically asked if I was misunderstanding something. The more I read the more I get anxious ! Lol

Folly 308 Posted September 1, 2015 Mine required 10% weight loss before surgery to mitigate the risk of the liver being injured during surgery. Evidently ribbons of fat make the liver less dense and it has to be pushed aside during surgery. Rapid weight loss makes the liver more lean and more dense. That was how they talked me into losing so much prior to surgery. :-) good luck
Dream4tc 192 Posted September 1, 2015 My preoperative diet is liquids for a week. They want the pipes cleaned out before hand lol
