jess9395 5,449 Posted August 16, 2015 Hi I am new here. Just starting pre op diet. My surgeon suggests 2 shakes during day and one small meal at night. I have picked up the premier chocolate shakes but cannot stomach them. Actually gagged while drinking. I do not like anything vanilla flavored and very rarely strawberry either. So I have been looking up smoothies recipes and am wondering if blending those up with berries and other stuff such as PB2 and maybe adding unflavored Protein Powder in would be good enough? I think I can take those better than nasty premade shakes. Yes! There are several unflavored Protein powders people use on the board! I tried several and my favorite is Quest.< /p>
jess9395 5,449 Posted August 16, 2015 As for the fruit--ask your doc what they say. It's fine with mine (a handful of berries has less than 8g of carbs and some Protein Shakes like Atkins have a lot more than that).
Jessica2011Marie 6 Posted August 16, 2015 Thanks for the suggestions. I been looking into the Quest and may try that. I see they have a salted Carmel flavor and Peanut Butter that sounds delicious.
Remix 153 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) I like GNC Pro Performace whey Protein natural flavour. It has no flavour and 40 grams of protein in just 2 scoops!! I add PB2 powder for extra protein and to give it a nice taste. Sometimes I add Greek yogurt and fruit for a smoothie but only occasionally because of the carbs.
