I ordered cases of these:

170 cal, 40g Protein. Really can't beat it. It comes in many flavors, so there might be another flavor you'll like.

Right now I have to be on Protein shakes that are only sold at my surgeon's office. They are expensive, and I hate that they're expensive, but it wont be forever. About 1-2 months post op I can go to any Protein powder/drink as long as Im getting the amt of protein I need daily. I actually applied for Insure Nutrition to see if my insurance would cover the protein/supplements and if they do, I'll be getting Premier Protein shakes :)

Thank you for the great information !!

@@geronimo When you say it comes in so many other flavors, do you mean other flavors of tea or other flavors that are not tea? I am not a fan of anything tea flavored but these look like a good option, so I'm hoping you'll say other flavors outside of tea!

Flavors other than tea - such as Passion fruit, pineapple Orange banana, Mango Peach, Blue Raspberry, Alpine Punch, etc.

Sweet!! Thanks for the info @@geronimo! That excites me because I know these shakes are already getting old.. LOL

I'm going to get some unflavored Protein powder to add to food and maybe even try the sugar free Torani syrups people keep talking about to add some "pizazz" to a shake..hopefully mixing it up a little will keep me from getting bored!

Nikikins- no beating yourself up allowed! Just look at all that you are doing for yourself. One little honest mistake doesn't make you stupid, it makes you human.

Geronimo, I'm so glad to know about ordering Isopure from GNC in bulk. I've been buying it as single bottles from Nutrition Shoppe and its a lot more expensive! Thanks!

@@geronimo, I like the Isopure tea as well, although I've only tried the black tea so far. But I noticed at the bottom of the page it does say a "jolt of caffeine." That was something I had just thought of this week, to ask my NUT next time. I know I'm supposed to give up caffeinated coffee for surgery, and they said I could have Decaf later after things have healed. I know tea doesn't have as much as coffee but I wonder if these are OK. They are definitely tastier than always having the thick chocolate or vanilla stuff.

I asked my NUT about the caffeine and she said it was a small enough amount to not matter. That said, I think I'm going to order some irked for the non-caffeine phase

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
