I'm penciled in the schedule for December 1 - haven't been approved officially yet but I doubt there will be an issue. I'm around a 39bmi with lots of other problems...

I would say I'm looking forward to it but it's not really true right now :) I know it's the right choice. But I'm super scared.

That will pass I bet but not for now :/

Mine is November 30. I am scared too. I am going to support group tonight. I think it will help. If your group offers that I suggest you utilize whatever they offer. :)

I've been approved. So the December 1 date is transforming from penciled in to inked!

Still feeling conflicted about it though. I'm not sure if I will end up doing it or not.

Thanks for asking. I no longer feel conflicted about it at all. I'm ready to go! I kind of went through a deep questioning stage for a month or so over the summer. You can read about it in this thread: http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351636-Approved---but-Should-I-Go-through-with-it%253F

Everyone's responses were very very helpful. My latest pre-op was super helpful as well: very confirming.

Hi! I am new to the website and had my Gastric Sleeve done on December 1st. How is everyone else that has had the surgery that day faring? I have been using the different powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powders to add variation to the limited diet that we have right now. Using the chocolate splendor works great as a hot chocolate in the morning for Breakfast. It also takes the place of my coffee.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
